Cheapest iPad Ever Could be Arriving in Q2 2018

Earlier this year, Apple had introduced a 9.7-inch iPad with the most affordable pricing of $329. Fresh information suggests that the Cupertino-based company is working on another edition of 9.7-inch iPad. Its cheapest variant is rumored to be priced around $259.

The Cupertino-based firm had achieved highest tablet sales record in 2014. Even though Apple is consistently leading the tablet industry, the sales of its tablets have declined in the recent years. With the launch of the rumored $259 iPad, Apple is reportedly hoping to revive the sales of iPads.

In the recent past, Apple has been aggressively trying to increase the sales of iPads by making their regular variants available with lower pricing. By launching a new iPad with cheaper price in 2018, Apple will be able to attract budget-minded consumers.

There is no information available on the specifications of the $259 iPad. However, it is speculated that it could be a toned down edition of the existing 9.7-inch iPad. Hence, it is likely to borrow design and specs from the current 9.7-inch iPad. The new tablet will be reportedly built by Compal Electronics and it is expected to release in the second quarter of next year.

The forthcoming iPad from Apple will allow it to rival with cheaper Android tablets from different brands like Samsung, Amazon, Huawei and Lenovo. The cheaper iPad may compel Android tablets users to switch to Appleā€™s OS driven tablet. We advise our readers to take this report with a pinch of salt as Apple or its supplier is yet to confirm on the existence of a cheaper iPad.

In related news, well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has spilled some vital information on the iPad Pro models arriving in the coming year. One of the 2018 iPad Pro models is expected to arrive with a full screen design like the iPhone X.
