Rumors have revealed that the second-generation iPhone SE may debut in this month. It is also speculated that three flagship iPhones will be unveiled in the month of September. Among them, there will be one iPhone with LCD screen and two OLED smartphones. The LCD iPhone is expected to arrive with a cheaper price tag compared to the OLED iPhones. Today, popular tipster @OnLeaks has shared fresh renders of the LCD iPhone.
2018 LCD iPhone Renders
As it can be seen in the new renders, the forthcoming LCD iPhone sports a notched display design. The other OLED iPhones are also speculated to arrive with notched design. The tipster has claimed the handset will be coming with a 6.1-inch LCD panel which matches with the rumors surrounding the same phone. As of this writing, there is no information available on the name of the LCD iPhone.
The below video reveals the design of the 2018 LCD iPhone from all angles. The notched design resembles with that of the iPhone X. Since it is speculated to be the cheapest among three iPhones arriving later this year, it features a single camera on its rear shell. The placement of the buttons on the edges of the phone and speaker grille and charging port at the bottom resembles with the iPhone X.
The thickness of the LCD iPhone will be 8.3mm and it will be measuring 9.9mm along with the camera bump. The smartphone measures 150.9 x 76.5mm. The 6.1-inch display of the phone will be delivering an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.
The specifications of the smartphone are under the wraps. However, it is likely to be fueled by Apple A12 chipset that advanced AI capabilities than predecessor A11 Bionic chipset. The handset is also expected to carry support for wireless charging.
Delayed Launch?
2017 was the first year when Apple had launched its first OLED iPhone that too with notched design. This year, it is the first time for the company to incorporate notched design on an LCD screen. Fresh information reveals that Apple has encountered light leakage problem while adding the notch design to the LCD panel because of which the production of the smartphone has been delayed by around two months.
If the information is true then Apple may announce all three iPhones during the September event, but may launch it in the market by November.
