United States Patent and Trademark office finally awarded Apple with design patents related to iPhone 4 and iPod touch 2007 model. It’s been almost a year since Apple iPhone 4 has been launched formally and now the company’s design related patent got approved. The iPhone 4 Design Patent filing reads: The ornamental design for an electronic device with graphical user interface, as shown and described. As we all know that Apple’s Ex-Employee who lead the team for Antennae design in iPhone 4 – Mark Papermaster, hasn’t been credited for the nitriding stainless steel band. Guess who got credited for that – Steve Jobs. Ouch!

Last month, we reviewed MacBook Air – October 2010 model but didn’t get the chance to open it. However, there was buzz going around about the MacBook Air models having SSDs from different makers. The new Late 2010 MacBook Air has custom-built Mini PCI Express form factor based SSD drive that is looked upon to give blazing fast performance. Initially, the MacBook Air Late 2010 models came out with SSDs manufactured by Toshiba that offered 210 MBps read and 185MBps write speeds. The iFixit teardown confirmed the existence of these Toshiba Blade X-gale SSD (TS128C) modules being used in the MacBook Air. However, now we’re hearing several recently purchased MacBook Air models are giving faster data throughput performance. Not with a help of any drivers but its due to different hardware altogether.

LG and HTC have jumped in to the madness of 3D imagery recording smartphones as well as tablets. Pretty much every handset maker *might* planned a 3D smartphone after that. So why would Apple stay behind? Apple is said to be working on an iPhone prototype that would be capable of capturing 3D images. Apple Insider has discovered Apple’s recent  patent application titled: Systems and Methods for an Imaging System Using Multiple Image Sensors. Well, that does sound like iPhone 3D.
The Patent filing about using an additional image sensor on iPhone system to capture, process and render 3D images. So dual-camera on same side of smartphone isn’t something new. We’ve already seen that with LG Optimus 3D and HTC EVO 3D. The approach is looked upon as a “paradigm shift from the known software-based approaches”. According to this approach, the software should be able to ‘guess’ how two images in to a single 3D photograph. Hardware based approach would also be employed for more accurate processing and hence would require more than one image sensor that could determine the luma, chroma and depth of two different images to combine them. From the demo it’s fairly visible that the App is almost ready to hit the iOS App Store. Check the demo below:

Here’s a piece of good news for all iPhone, iPod touch and iPad owners who’ve been holding on. The iPhone Dev Team member Musclenerd said on Twitter that the untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.x is being beta tested. The exploit for untethered jailbreak has been discovered by iOS platform Security Researcher/Developer called Stefan Esser – known as @i0n1c on Twitter. According to Musclenerd, the i0n1c’s untethered jailbreak exploit is pretty solid. (Hint. Hint!)
At this moment, you can jailbreak your iOS 4.3.1 based iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 4G and iPad by trying your luck with the PwnageTool 4.2 for Mac with a complicated way or sn0wbreeze 2.4 beta 1 for Windows. Remember that there’s NO unlock for all recent basebands found in iOS 4.3.1 and can only support these basebands -Â 01.59.00 / 04.26.08 / 05.11.07 / 05.12.01 / 05.13.04 / 06.15.00. Choose your tools wisely.
