Now this is really funny, I lost one of my 2G’s last week and now another iPhone (and the only one remaining) in our office has a camera issue. It runs v3.1.2 and after installing Camera Genius the camera stopped working. The app launches but the shutter doesn’t open.
Restoring and jailbreaking again doesn’t help. [...]

Some CMOS supplier claims to have received orders from Apple for supplying 3.2MP and 5MP Image sensors. OmniVision, the supplier has a great variety of camera sensors ranging up to 9 megapixels.
