While the firmware version 2.2.1 is just a small upgrade with some bug fixes, it is being rumored that Bluetooth support would be seen in Firmware V2.3, and with that we can also hope for USB Mass Storage. iPhoneAtlas is reporting some issues with the latest iPhone firmware 2.2; though this is unconfirmed, it seems many early adopters of the iPhone firmware version 2.2 are reporting a buggy experience. The problems mainly are:
Incompatible or buggy 3rd party Apps
Error: Could not Connect to Internet (Over 3G)
Phone not recognizing SIM Card
Error deleting mails
Snail slow AppStore

After all the rumors, leaks and predictions Apple has finally released the iPhone firmware Version 2.2. The firmware is a hefty 264MB download the firmware 2.2 delights with many new addons. Many of this is as seen before and pretty much expected.

Even before the iPhone update version 2.2 is out, the iPhone Dev Team has a word of caution for iPhone 3G users. Apparently a unlock to the iPhone 3G is near, but the firmware version 2.2 might change things drastically. For 1st Gen users, nothing can spoil the party.

These new screenshots affirms the over the air podcast news, and it is being rumored that downloads of podcasts upto 10MB would be allowed on AT&T’s 3G network. Also expected is a change in the AppStore layout, See the image below (iPhone 2.1-left vs 2.2 -right).
