Airtel is charging Rs 5000 ($120) upfront as an advance for the iPhone, while Vodafone is charging Rs 10000. ($240) Handset deliveries are expected to began today. The iPhone 3G has come to India after super sales of iPhone 2G in the grey market. Apple didn’t release the original iPhone in India and that sure adds to the demand / buzz for Airtel and Vodafone. With no subsidy model in India, the worlds most expensive smartphone sure, comes at a premium.
