“We believe Flash is synonymous with the Internet experience, and we are committed to bringing Flash to the iPhone,” adding, “We have evaluated (the software developer tools) and we think we can develop an iPhone Flash player ourselves.” – These were the words of Adobe Chief Executive Shantanu Narayen way back in March.
And here we hear that Adobe is almost ready with its Flash player for the iPhone. And the only hurdle remaining is to convince Apple that Flash on the iPhone wont eat up too much resources. Apple has defended the absense of Flash from the iPhone Safari browser by claiming that all forms of Flash currently in use take too much resources from the system, and is not suitable for a Phone.
However other mobile browsers have adopted flash and Adobe itself is confident that iPhone would do well with Flash! One of the biggest critisms of the Apple iPhone worldwide has been the lack of Flash support.
For Adobe to integrate a full functional Flash on the iPhone, they would require more than just the iPhone SDK. Apple would need to support it and perhaps thats something which is not v likely, seeing the Apple attitude…! Considering the fact that iPhone leads the Mobile Internet market, Hoping that we see atleast some amount of Flash on the iPhone soon.
