Nokia has finally unveiled its latest offering, 5800 Xpress Music – A touchscreen music phone, running on symbian. Code named Tube, it is said the be Nokia’s response to the iPhone! With dozens of leaks and spy pics already on the internet, the design and looks of 5800 was already revealed. But here are the official specs:
- 3.2-inch 640 x 360 touchscreen
- 3.2MP Cam with Carl Zeiss (+dual LED flash)
- GPS and WiFi
- 3.5mm audio jack
- MicroSD slot with 8GB card free (Supports 16GB MicroSDHC cards)
- Network: European HSDPA, North American HSDPA, and GSM only
- Colours: black, red, and blue
Nokia 5800 (Tube) also made a appearance in The Dark Knight: Batman Movie and is targetted at the youth. Nokia also has a iTunes rival music service to offer…
5800 comes with a Resistive touchscreen that will support stylus and handwriting recognizition. Also the loudspeaker offered by Nokia is certainly louder than the iPhone. All this certainly pleases the Asian audience (Yeah, Nokia rules the masses!).
Just like the iPhone Nokia 5800 offers a accelerometer, and even games are on offer that run on the accelerometer. Not sure if they would compete with the iPhone NES Roms…
Nokia 5800 is priced just below $400 and will be unlocked.
