Apple stole the DAP market with the iPod years back, and here the smartphone market is under pressure by the gigantic pressence of the iPhone 3G! Over the past week we have been concerned about growing competition for the iPhone (Nokia Tube 5800 and Blackberry Storm); however the numbers still favor Apple.
As reported yesteday Apple has sold 10 million (or something v close to that) iPhone 3G’s (add to that 6 million 1st Gen iPhones) worldwide. So the iPhone successfully captures 17% of the Smart Phone market. No small feat for a new entrant to achieve this in less than two years – With just 2 product launches. WOW
