My Fox is a free internet browser for the iPhone via Cydia. This allows full screen browsing. Though the app is out since long we didnt like it since the shake gesture never worked on our iPhone, and it didnt allow multiple pages.
However, the newly updated version 2.0 of MyFox looks terrific. Full Screen Browsing is extremely easy, all you need to do it shake the phone a little and the browser toggles between Full Screen and standard mode. The App also supports Tabs now. You can open 4 different pages at a time.
MyFox allows you to email the link of the page you are surfing to a friend via email and auto recovery option in case the app crashed or you switched over to some other app in between.
How Safari provides suggestions
A feature that we miss is the autofill in address bar. The app doesn’t remember the frequently visited sites and doesn’t provide suggestions like Mobile Safari as we start to type (see image above).
Also, a terrifically irritating {null} text appears in the address bar whenever you open a blank page (image above); you first need to erase that manually and then start typing the URL you want to visit. And to make it worse that null at times reappears after you has finished typing the URL, making things downright frustrating.
The new version adds much needed features like Tabs and fixes for the full screen shake gesture. However, the browser is quite sluggish specially during the auto rotation between landscape and portrait mode. Hope that is fixed soon.
We wouldnt recommend using this browser yet, untill the known bugs are fixed. But if you are curious to try something new – here it is – MYFOX
