Rumors suggest that Apple is considering an option for allowing background processes on the iPhone / iPod Touch. While the iPhone is real swift (with a little illusion),the fear is that background apps would make it terribly slow and painful.
It is believed that Apple is on a look out at options and isn’t ready with a solution yet. It might well be so that only pre-approved apps on the AppStore will be allowed that functionality or there would be a manual control for users to decide which apps to run in the background. Hope Apple comes up with something good and IM’s go real on the iPhone.
Apple’s competitors like Symbian and Android are since long touting multitasking as a prominent feature and something that Apple has failed to address. It’s about time, Apple reinvents the mobile OS that powers iPhone.
