Now this can get a little tricky here with Google monetizing the 50 million touch devices that Apple has sold by showing up sponsored listings on its MAPS application that is bundled in the iPhone / iPod touch. Not sure if there is any revenue share, but the situation is certainly interesting.
After being under the antitrust scanner and a tiff over the Google Voice app, Apple and Google aren’t believed to be the good buddies that they were known to be. Almost all google offerings were initially being customized for the iPhone / iPod touch and then came the Android and the Chrome OS announcement. It is also rumored that Apple might get its own MAPS app on the iPhone replacing the default Google Maps offering.
