The iPhone OS version 3.2 is due with the iPad release next month, and developers are already playing with the beta 3 of the new firmware. Now you know what that means? Curious apple fanboys digging out each and every line of the SDK code for any possible references to the unannounced apple products / features. And that’s exactly what we have with the good old iPad camera rumors getting a little dose of reality.
Deep inside the SDK code you will find three references to camera characteristics that we are yet to see on any iPhone / iPod touch or the iPad. These are front camera, zoom and camera flash. It obviously doesn’t make sense for apple to have these codes in the iPhone OS unless they are testing out products with these features. Another good catch recently was the video calling buttons for the iPad that we saw earlier. Put these together and you know what the iPad second Gen can offer. A front camera, zoom and LED flash on the iPhone 4th gen won’t be too bad either 🙂
Another angle to look at this is a fairly simple observation of how Apple has raked in millions worth of free advertising from the press by just keeping silent about its releases. I won’t be going too far if I suspect that these little UI elements and codes are left behind for this very purpose … Yourself reading and myself writing about APPLE! Quite Possible!
