I am hearing about TigetText since a couple of days now, and I just didn’t take the trouble to dig deep until I saw every other site writing an incomplete picture about the service. Before I begin here is something you need to know about Tiget Text:
What if I send a TigerText to someone who does not have TigerText installed?
The user will receive a message from TigerText that encourages them to install the free reader. Once the free reader is installed, the user can read any message you send. Both users must have TigerText in order to communicate through the platform.
Tiger Text lets you send Text messages to someone with an auto-delete time set. This deletes the message after the stipulated time set by you is over. Well, I do see a need for this, specially for those love birds (boss > secretary duo also qualifies :P) and for confidential business communications which can be dangerous if stored on the device for long. Tiger Text stores the message on the server and thus the recipient has no control on the deletion. However, the app would need an active Internet connection (this makes TigerText work on iPod touch aswell).TigerText is currently only for use on iPhone & iPod Touch. Blackberry and Droid will be available soon. The messages sent aren’t free, there are two packs that you can purchase – $1.49 for 250 messages or $2.49 for unlimited monthly subscription. (First 100 messages once you download the app are free though).
