While Microsoft tried its best to keep its employees to Windows Mobile, there seems to be a good following for the iPhone at Redmond. It is rumored that as many as 10% of Microsoft employees use an Apple iPhone! Yeah thats roughly 10000 iPhones being used by Microsoft people. The data comes from sources familiar with the matter claiming that nearly 10,000 iPhone users were regularly accessing the Microsoft employee system last year.
It is also believed that many of these employees try to shade their devices from senior execs at Microsoft. A reported incident of Steve Ballmer showing his displeasure on seeing an employee using the iPhone is pretty famous now. According to WSJ many employees use cases for the iPhone that would make it look like a generic handset and thus save them from the company top brass noticing it.
Now I really wonder what the scene is like in Cupertino?
