Apple continues acquiring new patents for their device and the newest patent which Apple has acquired will detect the users heartbeats. Biometric recognition is not a new technology, we have already seen systems identifying, fingerprints, eyes and faces but sensing the heart beat maybe a different experience.
This new patent acquired by Apple is called, ‘Seamlessly Embedded Heart Rate Monitor.’ The new patent will not only let the device identify the user but it will also recognize the users mood through the cardiac signals.
The patent states that when you hold the device in your hand, cardiac sensors which will be embedded into the case will be able to monitor the heart rhythm and will then identify the user. This means that you won’t need your passwords anymore and as the phone will be unlocked as soon as you pick it up. Other than this I think that the device will also change its background or status as per you mood.
This seems like a pretty cool idea, however it is still in the patent stage and it may take some time to implement it into the devices.
