We know that the Nexus One and several other smartphones out there offer a OLED display and it was rumored that Apple would have the same on their offerings like the iPad and iPhone (include iPod touch aswell in the list) soon. Now with WWDC 2010 bringing us the gorgeous iPhone 4 with the Retina Display with a 960×640 resolution in a 3.5″ display, we wonder what Apple plans for future. Apple claimed that their Retina display technology is much better than the OLED / AMOLED and of course a 300+ ppi certainly sounds great.
Apple’s Retina display takes the pixels to a level that it goes beyond the distinction of the human eye. So you can witness a ‘zero pixelation’ experience on the iPhone 4. We are pretty sure, this is something you will soon see on the iPod touch and other Apple devices 🙂
Given that Apple aims at reading, gaming and media all together, the IPS technology coupled with such resolution makes this a killer. They claim to have taken the game to a all new level for the first time since the original iPhone in 2007 and it seems true to us. Video showing the amazing display below:
