While we haven’t heard much from the iAd network that Apple launched in July, it seems that it already has a few critics. Apparently Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz has already gone on records to claim that the Apple advertisement network would fail. In her words “That’s going to fall apart for them,” / “Advertisers are not going to have that type of control over them. Apple wants total control over those ads.”
Now this is interesting bit with Apple lifting the restrictions that kept Admob at a disadvantage recently. While iAd gives great interface, Google has its dominance in the Ad market. Will Apple really fail the Ad race? Apple has some good names working with them for the iAd, but for this to really succeed it will require developers to put in some trust on the system. Users won’t mind ads so long as the app comes to them free, but will the developers see value in it?
