Apple introduced AirPrint technology for wireless printing via iPhone, iPod touch or iPad but available only for select printers that support the technology. That means AirPrint support was available only on select printers from handful brands. Once again Apple created sort-of walled garden for this amazing feature. Thanks to the Intelliborn Developers, a new app TruPrint available from Cydia brings supports for hundreds of printers that aren’t officially supported through AirPrint feature.
Apple AirPrint feature is available through iOS 4.2 update and hence it’s necessary for jailbroken iPhone, iPod touch and iPad devices. After jailbreaking the iOS device, all you have to do is buy TruPrint from Cydia Store for $9.99 – yes, it’s NOT free. TruPrint App will allow using several printers from Brother, HP, Canon and several other brands for wireless printing. Do note that not every printer would be supported.
Though TruPrint is bit costly but it certainly eases off you from loads of wires and printer driver installation troubles. Take a look at the TruPrint video below.
