After having a look at how the iPad 2 fares against the Motorola Xoom, lets take a look at how it fares against Samsung’s 10.1 inch trump card – the Galaxy Tab 10.1. As the name suggests, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 gets a 10.1 inch display – slightly larger than the one on the Pad 2. It runs Android 3.0 which is a tablet optimized operating system from Google. Both the tablets run on a Dual Core 1GHz processor it will be good to see whether Samsung’s and Apple’s new device be a success this time too, as there are many other companies coming out with powerful tablets. All we can do is wait and watch.
Samsung has already hinted that it needs to look at its strategy given that the iPad 2 has arrived to steal its thunder. In fact when the original iPad launched in India, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7″ took at Rs 10000 price cut (thats $200). Samsung sure is looking at Apple as its prime competitor in this market and not the other Honeycomb tablets like the Xoom or LG G slate. While honeycomb itself is a decent OS update, Samsung is yet again a manufacturer selling the hardware specs over the tablet experience (and guess thats the only way to differentiate at the moment). Custom skins on honeycomb anyone?
Here is a low down on the specs of the two. Head to Head.
