It seems that all rumors of the White iPhone 4 being thicker can officially be put to rest. Since the release of the White iPhone 4, Apple has been under fire for listing it as 9.3mm thick on its specs page, while many blogs found that it is 2mm thicker than its black counterpart. This meant that the White iPhone 4 was 9.5 mm thick and many cases that were designed for the iPhone4 wont fit the White iPhone. While what we saw in images can be a photographic illusion, the image below by Consumer Reprots shows the test being conducted by ‘high quality calipers’.
The result is that both iPhones are 0.37 inches thick and that officially puts all rumors of a thicker iPhone 4 to rest. A scientific test of this nature surely brings credibility. Consumer Reports might have given Apple a thumbs down during the antennagate controversy, but this time they seem to have come to Apple’s rescue.
