Just few days ago, we posted the screenshot of iPod touch 4g JailBroken on iOS 5.0 beta 1 for developers. DevTeam has recently released another version of Redsn0w which let you JailBreak your iDevice running on the iOS 5 developer version. As expected, it doesn’t not expose any undiscovered exploit. Instead, it uses the same limera1n bootrom exploit and the JailBreak is tethered, that is, you need to use Redsn0w everytime you boot your device to properly function every feature again.
Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 doesn’t activate any of the iDevice. So, it is strictly advised to people who wants to bypass the UDID step on iTunes, not to use this tool. It is only meant for developers who have a UDID from Apple to JailBreak their iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. If you find white icon of safari and cydia after the re-boot then you may need to use the ‘Just boot tethered now’ from the redsn0w. We already know that why it is a ‘tethered boot’. Please don’t pirate the Apple software which is available only for developers.
The main purpose to release this JailBreak for iOS developer is that many things such as Apple’s official apps, 3rd-party App Store apps, Cydia apps, MobileSubstrate apps, etc have been broken in iOS 5 beta 1 which needs to be fixed. Till the time the final version of iOS 5 is available, you will have a stable JailBreak. It is only available for Mac right now.
Download (Mac) : redsn0w 0.9.8b1 for Mac
Note : Download only if your an iOS developer with a registered UDID from Apple.
