Well, Apple winning a lawsuit against Samsung leading to the barring of the sales of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia is all in the news since yesterday. Yes Apple and Samsung had locked horns regarding certain patent and IP infringements to which the Australian court replied in favor of Apple by banning the sales of the Galaxy tab.
Samsung had agreed to stop the promotions of product in the country and stop sales as well until the the lawsuit is mutually resolved or they end up winning it. But now Samsung seems to have done a complete U-turn by stating that they intend to go ahead with the sales of their Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the near future.
Samsung in a statement has clarified that Apple had filed a lawsuit against one of the variant of the Galaxy Tab as being similar to the iPad. And Samsung claims that they have another version of the Galaxy tab which is different from the one in question in the Australian courts and believes that it is different from the Apple’s iPad and hence doesn’t fall under the ruling of the court orders.
It is this different variant of the Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 which they plan to launch soon in the Australian markets. Though it will be interesting to see what is Apple’s response to the same and wheteher Samsung will have to get clearance from the Australian court for the supposed different variant of the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
