iTunes Match is Available For Developers, Store Songs Not Purchased From iTunes in iCloud

iTunes Match has been exclusively made available to developers through latest beta version of iTunes. It allows you to store songs in iCloud which you didn’t purchase from iTunes Store. Perhaps, those songs which you purchased from iTunes Store will be automatically added, thereby, leaving behind the non-purchased content. For iTunes Match, you would require to buy a subscription from Apple for $24.99. This subscription would remain effective for a period of only one year.

However, in the initial stages, for the developers to test the service is available for free until iOS 5 beta expires. In addition to it, developers will get 3 month of free service with their 12 month paid subscription. To experience iTunes Match, you must be on the latest beta build of iOS 5 and iTunes. After purchase, you can turn on the service right from Store menu. Here it should be noted that you shouldn’t entirely depend on iCloud to store all of your music. Due to its beta stage, Apple could erase or reset any of your data prior to any notification. So, it is advised that you should regularly keep backing up all your music files in your hard disk.
