MuscleNerd has confirmed through a tweet that he would update Redsn0w with an option to build custom firmware, thereby adding the capability to preserve BaseBand. It is assumed that it would help people to remain their BaseBand preserved while upgrading to iOS 5.0. It will be one the most anticipated feature for many people who want their iPhone 4 to be unlocked in future.
Similar to pwnage tool from DevTeam, people will be able to get the same functionality from Redsn0w. This is the second update from DevTeam regarding Redsn0w and it seems that many more features are coming in near future. Currently, iOS 5 JailBreak is tethered. It is expected that the untethered JailBreak will arrive in weeks after the public release. iOS 5 will be available on October 12.
