After the success of Siri port for iPod touch 4G, @chpwn and @stroughtonsmith have proved yet again that the Siri integration can be extended further for other devices. This time they have ported Siri on iPhone 3GS and posted a video where Siri on 2 year old device appears to be working perfectly fine. You can checkout the embedded video by yourself where he had dictated Siri to search for a contact.
Interestingly, they have found a legit way to port Siri on other iDevice. Earlier, it was notified from @chpwn through a blog post that they couldn’t release the hack until a legal way is found which doesn’t violate Apple policies. Now, when it has been possible to port Siri through Activator integration, we can expect the release soon. However, we would still require to manipulate the system files and add some line of code.
This change will help us to spoof Apple servers. It is also rumored that Apple is in a probability to release Siri for devices other than iPhone 4S through a software update. Though the Siri integration on other iDevices has already gone through the phase of beta testing. What do you think about it?
