Well, earlier there were claims from some sources that Apple was vigorously testing Siri on devices other than iPhone 4S. But we have confirmation from an iOS developer who was replied directly from Apple through mail that Apple has no plans to port it in older devices. The reply was in regarding to a question asked by the iOS developer.
Developer clearly said that Apple should charge an amount of $19.99 in iOS 5.0.1 build with Siri enabled for other devices. It was an effort to avoid illegal attempt for hackers to port it without privileges. However, developers are already working on the method and they have already got successful in porting the Siri GUI. In addition to it, they have also been able to spoof Apple servers which is an achievement in itself.
Anyways, hackers have found a legal way with which Siri can be ported to other iDevices. With the working Siri port on iPod touch 4G and iPhone 3GS, it can be concluded that it is working without any issues. Though there could be some lags due to the non-availability of the required processor. We don’t think that it would affect the functionality much. What do you say about it?
