We heard in an interview with Microsoft’s Craig Mundie that Apple has only marketed their voice recognition service well. Otherwise, Siri has all the capabilities of Microsoft’s TellMe which they introduced a year ago. TellMe was released by Microsoft since the launch of Windows Phone 7 which recognizes your voice and search accordingly. To show the difference, a video has been made over the two services.
Here, the main emphasis would be on the voice recognition of the services. In short, the accuracy with which the task has been performed. Rather than comparing each of them in terms of functionality. The person in the video has kept both windows phone 7 and an iPhone 4S side by side. At the same time, he dictated same sentences to both the services. However, Siri picked it up quite well and understood what the person had said. On the other hand, TellMe failed to understand anything.
Though it could be due to the absence of the accent. But it was a typical American accent which must be understood by both of them. Anyhow, we don’t think that Siri is successful due a great marketing technique. Instead, it works the way it should. This is what people who have bought an iPhone 4S admired most. If Microsoft’s TellMe is not a success even after a year, bad marketing sounds absurd for us. Let’s know about your thoughts on TellMe vs Siri in the comment section.
