As promised before, MuscleNerd has released yet another version of ultrasn0w which has the capability to unlock iOS 5.0.1 on a preserved BaseBand. If you are one of those people who rely on a software unlock and constantly preserving the BaseBand of your iPhone, ultrasn0w 1.2.5 is meant for you. You can create the custom firmware using either Redsn0w or Sn0wbreeze.
This is the time for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS owners to rejoice their unlocking days once again. It doesn’t mean that if you have manually upgraded your iPhone, without custom firmware, you would be able to unlock your device. The following BaseBand are supported:
iPhone 4- 1.59
iPhone3GS/3G: 4.26.08, 5.11.07, 5.12.01, 5.13.04 and 6.15.
Any attempt to install ultrasn0w 1.25 on the top of another BaseBand will fail the process. Currently, there’s no work going on for the unlock of iPhone 4 on the newer BaseBands. Instead, DevTeam is trying to unlock iPhone 4S which would be release anytime soon in the future. On the other hand, untethered JailBreak on iOS 5.0.1 for iPhone 4, iPad 1, iPod touch 4G is on the stage of completion. You can expect it too in few days.
Efforts on implementing iOS 5.0.1 untethered JailBreak on iPhone 4S and iPad 2 are still not completed. All we can do is to hope for the best. But it seems that the issues faced while porting the userland exploit onto these devices are countless. What do you say about it?
