Andy Hertzfeld, who once was an employee of the Macintosh team has posted a picture on Google+ where Steve Jobs is showing middle finger to its competitor IBM. In the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson, it has been mentioned several times about the friendship between Andy and Steve and Steve’s rebellious spirit towards its rivals in the market. IBM was one of them which used Windows Operating System from Microsoft with the combination of their hardware.
The fact was known that Apple was losing the war of personal computer and they completely lost it before Steve returned back to the company once again. However, Next was not a huge success and those computers were targeted for a specific audience, that is, Universities or laboratories. As per Andy Hertzfeld, it is one of the rarest photo, taken in 1983 before the Macintosh launch when they went for a quick trip to meet the newsweek. Andy also wrote a book, but never included in it because IBM was still making CPUs for the Apple.
I had never seen this photo before and you might be interested in having a look at it. Let’s know what do you think about it in the comment section. We would love to hear from you.
