In the media event today at New York city, Apple has announced iBooks 2, iBooks Author and iTunes U. iBooks 2 now include a section for students where they can download books depending upon their interest. These books are targeted for schools and colleges student to learn in altogether different way. You can update it from the App Store under update section or by manually searching and downloading it.
iBooks Author lets you create books from the available templates. You can even drag and drop your slides onto the iBooks Author application for Mac OS X and it would turn into a book with text and videos in a while. Also, you don’t to have special knowledge to create your own e-books. Majority of the functionality is similar to iWork or MS-Office. The only requirement to download iBooks Author is Mac OS X Lion. Grab it from the Mac App Store now. It is available for free.
Next thing is the iTunes U which is a separate application one can download from the App Store on an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. It allows you take full online courses for college or school. Once the application is downloaded, open the app, search for the category you are interested in and subscribe. You can also manually checkout from the top charts and featured tabs. The user interface resembles with iBooks Store or Newsstand in many ways.
