May be, it’s a tad too late, but it seems that Apple has finally figured out a way to stop Siri on devices other than iPhone 4S. People who have a JailBroken iPhone, iPod touch or iPad had been using Siri on their devices using proxy servers. This method to use proxy servers on other devices came up with the release of Spire from the known hackers in iOS community. Check out the video below from iDB.

Since then people were selling proxy servers on different sites. Many non-iPhone 4S users bought them for as low as $10 with a perception that the way can never be closed. Nevertheless, the method is legal due to the unencrypted files in iOS 5.0.1. However, Apple has already started playing its cards. Today, Spire users faced issues while activating Siri on their iPhone 4, iPod touch or iPad. The reason is assumed to be the change in activation which now includes ‘SetActivationToken’.
For the time being, some hackers have found out a temporary way to make these proxy servers work yet again. For the same, you would require to access your system files using either iFile via Cydia or SSH. Navigate to var>mobile>library>preferences and remove ‘com.apple.assistant.plist’ at intervals if Siri fails to give you any response in return. Apparently, this trick is temporary and Apple could close it soon.
We have to say it, Non-iPhone 4S users are in serious trouble with these kind of issues appearing more often. The next software update, iOS 5.1 could tighten up the security for the installation of these non-trusted certificates. Anyways, hackers are always one step ahead. So we are expecting alternatives to fix them. What do you think about it? Let’s know in the comment section.
