America’s Fortune magazine released a whole new rankings of 500 top global companies for 2012. Apple has been ranked at 55 as compared to 111 in 2011. The ranking is based purely on amount of revenue generated and nothing else. Apple might have a stunning share of profit in it’s revenue but as compared to other companies it still is way behind.
Apple has a total revenue of $108.25 Billion of which a staggering $25.9 Billions is their profits which accounts to nearly 24%. Apple’s main rival in mobile devices, Samsung is ranked at 20 with a total revenue of nearly $145 Billion and a profit of nearly $12 billion.
The list is topped by Royal Dutch Shell with a revenue of $484.5 Billion by dethroning Exxon mobile which had a revenue of $453 Billion.
