Microsoft has officially announced in its annual sales meeting that the final version of Windows 8 would be available on October 26th. Previously, they told only about the availability in October, but now we are informed about specific date for the release as well. Windows 8 plays an important role for Microsoft since it could drive the sales of its upcoming window tablets and Windows Phone 8 which are based on architecture of ’tiles’.
If you are used to Windows 8, you wouldn’t find any issues handling tablets based on Windows ARM or Windows Phone 8. Also, according to Verge, Microsoft has confirmed that they won’t be releasing MS-Office 2013 for Mac OS X. Microsoft unveiled Office 2013 for Windows 8 which would feature a deep integration of Skydrive and Office 365, thus allowing us to save documents and retrieve them right away. Perhaps, there could be an update for Office 2011 for Mac that would introduce these features to the existing users.
Last time, Microsoft rolled out service pack 2 update to customers in April. The license for Office for Mac would be valid for people with 365 Office Home Premium subscription.
