Apple is out with the iPhone 5 and it is that time of the year when Samsung would start the media assault with poor jokes and ads that speak nothing about their products. Last year, Samsung tried to ridicule the iPhone 4S by mocking people standing in line for the iPhone and this time around they are out with a newspaper ad that shows a few features of the iPhone 5 and a ton of features of the S3.
While there is nothing wrong with comparing a product, we have seen before that the facts are far from complete. When HTC did something similar, readers didn’t appreciate it. Samsung got the sympathy that time. This time, when Samsung omits a lot of iOS features to highlight how S3 rules over the iPhone 5, it gets the flak on Twitter.
Comments like Samsung lacking confidence on its product and their users STILL reading newspapers were seen. We wonder if Samsung would have done better by just stressing on a couple of specific S3 features? Samsung has also dropped the rate of Galaxy S3 in India after the iPhone 5 launch, again fails to inspire confidence.
