A recent report from BGR suggests that Apple is testing the next iteration of iOS 6 software, iOS 6.0.1 which would hit iTunes soon. On the other hand, iOS 6.1 which is expected to be a major improvements in terms of Maps and other bugs could arrive only after holidays. Needless to say, when Apple announced iPad in 2009, it had an all new software version which was different from other devices.
That’s why there’s a probability that Apple would announce the much anticipated iPad mini preinstalled with iOS 6.0.1. However, when the device would hit the market in November, iOS 6.0.1 would have been rolled out to other iDevices as well. According to the BGR sources, iOS 6.0.1 would fix the horizontal line bugs on the screen when the keyboard or app folder is open. Another issue includes a problem with the camera flash which doesn’t turn OFF automatically.
Also, there would be improvements in Wifi-support, fixes in cellular data which doesn’t work in some cases, etc. Whereas, Apple has lately started testing iOS 6.1. Due to which it won’t be available before holidays. There are possibilities that iPad is shipped with its own build of iOS 6.1 and iOS 6.0.1 is preserved for other devices. What do you think?
