While Facebook is a tad late on iOS with its feature to upload photos automatically in background in a separate private folder, it seems that they could not miss this precious opportunity. The similar feature is already available on Google+ called ‘Instant Upload’ which lets you upload pictures or videos in the background silently if the feature is turned ‘ON’ from the Settings. The recent report from TechCrunch suggests that Facebook has already sent the upcoming version to certain testers.
Fortunately, folks at TechCrunch were able to a grab the version early from the testers and took a screenshot of the application. From the screenshot, it appears that unlike Google+, Facebook would allow only sharing of Photos whenever the option is enabled by the user. These photos would be synced at intervals when the pictures are captured from the camera roll. Although the process would work in the background, but these photos would be saved in a private folder on Facebook which would be accessed only by the profile owner.
However, if one wants to share the same photos with friends on their feed, they can make them visible from the available options in the application. Facebook had previously updated their application with a new button to re-share posts, a new way to chat with friends or mark some of them as your favourites for ease in access etc. Prior to that, they rewrote their application in native language supported by Apple and got rid of the HTML 5 interface that made it really smoother and faster.
There’s no information when Photo Sync feature would be rolled out for Facebook mobile application. What do you think? Would you be using this option more often? Check here on Facebook for more. Let’s know in comment section.
