It’s been barely three months since Apple took covers off the most recent and the newest iPhone model and we already have rumours flying on about the next generation iPhone. The newest one to hit the stands is the one which says that Apple would not be waiting a year to launch the next iPhone model. We could see a successor to the iPhone 5 – by June 2013 just 7 months away from now.
According to Peter Misek, analyst at investment-banking firm Jefferies, Apple could launch an iPhone successor termed the iPhone 5S on the eve of the 2013 WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) – or shortly after that. As you might have guessed from the name, the iPhone 5S would be an incremental update from the existing iPhone model and would feature a bunch of new functionalities.
Some of the features that might see the light of the day with the iPhone 5S include full-fledged support for NFC – a feature that is increasingly becoming common on most smartphones of today and an upgraded “super HD” camera. There is also talk about the iPhone being made available in more colour options.
Until now, you would have to be content with only two colour options – white and black when it came to the iPhone. That might change with the next generation iPhone as Apple is reportedly preparing to offer the handset in a bunch of colours. Ladies out there would be finally happy to see a “Pink” iPhone we assume!
Anyway, let us warn you that all these are mere speculations at this point in time and as always, we request you to take these reports with the proverbial pinch of salt.
