Micromax’s price graph for the Canvas 2 A110 Superphone has a story to tell. In fact the phone itself is a case study material in itself. Micromax for long has taken the famous and made it for the common man. Be it the Dual SIM phones with Blackberry style QWERTY keyboards. Or WiFi phones below Rs 5,000. But who knew the Canvas 2 A110 would do that to the premium Android phones on offer. Costing Rs 10,000 originally and the recent stock shortage pushing the price to as much as Rs 12,000, the A110 is a story of exceptional demand by offering Value for money.
While Android copied iPhone and reached the top, it seems Android manufacturers like Samsung and HTC would have a hard time fighting local manufacturers like Micromax. The A110 has no manufacturer name on the front of the device and the looks is similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S III. While the structure of the device, back side and specs are inspired by the Galaxy Note series. A 5″ full touchscreen, 8MP camera and Dual-code GHz processor is something that you don’t get under Rs 20,000, the A110 sells for 10,000 – 12,000. Galaxy Note’s success formula of combining Android with a huge touchscreen is now a super hit formula for Micromax.
Apart from that, the A110 also offers Dual-SIM compatibility and stock Android 4.0 interface that is hard to find on any other device than the Nexus series from Google. Given Android’s open source nature and demand for Stock Android UI, Micromax has little to do on the software front, the A110 is compatible with wide range of Games and Apps and a plastic hardware is very well accepted in the market today.
