Apple Has Stopped Signing iOS 6.0.1/iOS 6.0.2

After the much expected release of iOS 6.1, Apple has stopped signing iOS 6.0.1 or iOS 6.0.2 which was being installed on iOS devices. Undoubtedly, while a team of iOS hackers readies you an untethered JailBreak on iOS 6.1, you should update your iPhone manually (recommended) or via OTA on your device.

We have said this earlier, but we would like to repeat that it’s absolutely safe to update to iOS 6.1 even if you are looking forward for a properly functional JailBreak. Apple’s been closing the path to downgrade for iOS users from quite sometime (the most popular way is of course to stop signing older versions). And as always, they have followed the same rule to close iOS 6.0.1/iOS 6.0.2 restore on your device again.

This means that you won’t be able to downgrade or restore yet again on the same firmware if any issue occurs to your device accidentally. However, there might be a workaround if you have saved SHSH Blobs before to make that possible. But we assume that there’s no reason for you to remain on the older firmware when even a JailBreak is imminent for release.

In case you want to save SHSH Blobs now, you won’t be able to do that because Apple has closed that window. Have you upgraded to iOS 6.1? Let’s know in the comment section.
