Every time after the release of a JailBreak, Cydia takes immense time to reload data when opened for the first time. Not anymore, because Saurik has finally sorted the situation of heavy traffic when iOS 6.1 untethered JailBreak goes public. The Cydia creater wrote on Reddit that Planetbeing has accepted his pre-primed cydia proposal, due to which all the default cydia package catalog would come preinstalled when you would open it immediately for the very first time.
This would significantly lower the refresh cycle which Cydia usually takes to fetch the catalog first and then the packages. All it would need is just to grab the diff. Undoubtedly, this would minimise the traffic which we usually encounter on the first day of JailBreak releases. Also, if you have added other repositories, they could use the same method which is being described by 0ptima from BigBoss.
iOS 6.1 untethered JailBreak would be supposedly called ‘evasi0n’ which has a dedicated website to know about the progress of the JailBreak. Also, it’s expected that the JailBreak would be released on February 3, that is, Sunday. If you haven’t updated your iDevice on iOS 6.1 and looking for a JailBreak, you can safely update now.
