After the news a while back, this doesn’t come in the form of surprise. A team of hackers have updated the JailBreaking tool – evasi0n to v1.4 which supports iOS 6.1.2 untethered JailBreak. This is not the first time when Apple has led the JailBreak flip through their security check and it seems that it might continue to happen for other important bug fixes. Prior to it, Apple didn’t fix the same exploit in iOS 6.1.1 which was meant for iPhone 4S.
The JailBreak process remains the same. If you are on a JailBroken device already, you won’t be able to update via OTA on iOS 6.1.2. If you are not on any of them, it’s advised to update to iOS 6.1.2 via manual restore in iTunes. So that you get to save iOS 6.1.2 SHSH Blobs through updated TinyUmbrella or iFaith. MuscleNerd made it clear on Twitter that the ability to downgrade is possible only on devices till iPhone 4. Rest of them are still needed an exploit to perform the procedure.
