A federal court reporter, Vanessa Blum, tweeted out last night that Judge Koh ordered a cut of approximately $450 million off the famous Apple-Samsung case where Samsung was originally ordered to shell out $1.05 billion against damages to Apple over various patent infringements.

After various appeals from Samsung, Judge Koh’s order to vacate $450,514,650 from the judgment covers 14 Samsung products due to uncertainty over what amount of damages are attributable to an individual intellectual property right.
Apple’s claim against damages done by the following products will be re-evaluated resulting in a reduction or increase in the final settlement that has to be made by Samsung

- Indulge

- Galaxy Prevail
- Gem
- Galaxy SII for AT&T
- Galaxy Tab

The damages claimed from the other devices which sums up to an approximate amount of $600 million still stands and Samsung is liable to make the payment sooner or later.
Apple filed a case against Samsung for an original claim amount of $2.5 billion and persuaded Judge Koh for the same but the final verdict had a penalty of $1.05 billion only resulting in a relief for Samsung in a way, but nevertheless $1.05 billion is no less either.
