The Korean tech giant and Apple’s main rival seems to be already gearing itself up to compete agains Apple’s much rumoured watch (iWatch) that is all set to be launched in the later part of 2013 as per rumours. Rumours have been flouting around since quite some time from various sources including analysts that Apple is preparing its next big thing which will be a wearable computer in the form of a watch. The Apple iWatch would be sporting an all metal and glass body that would also be capable of connecting to other iOS devices to control basic information like calendar, notifications, music etc. as per rumours.
Samsung’s executive vice president on mobile division, Lee Young Hee, seems to have said that Samsung has been gearing itself to release its own version of a watch which it has been working on since quite some time to launch the device soon, which is part of Samsung’s long term plans for the future.
Not much details about the price, availability and features has been revealed but it is at least confirmed from Samsung that it is going to compete Apple if it were to launch a watch indeed. In a strange manner there are yet to be any leaks of the supposed iWatch which is contrary to number of leaks happening for almost all Apple device launches lately.
With the saturation of smartphone market, especially the premium segment, it is high time Apple launches their next big thing and capture the world with its innovative products again. Only time will tell if Apple really has some big launches up its sleeves for 2013.
