It is always fun to compare any statistic related to flagship devices and it is more fun when we have to compare flagship devices from Apple against Samsung. The launch day tweets about both the products were consolidated and studied by PiperJaffray analyst Gene Munster which speaks about the following and anticipation each brand has with their customers. As expected, Apple still maintains a heavy lead over Samsung even after being touted as the Smartphone leader lately. There were nearly 5 times as many posts about iPhone 5 compared to the number of post on Galaxy S4 said the analysts. It shows that worldwide anticipation for Apple product still remains the same.
The specific numbers read 2.4 million tweets about iPhone 5 on the day of launch and about 440,000 tweets for Samsung Galaxy S4 on the day of launch, but one aspect Samsung could be happy about is with the in detailed sentiment analysis which shows about 81% of tweets showed positive and happy signs for the product compared to only 73% for the iPhone.
Apple maintains tight security over the manufacturing and various other aspects of its supply chain to avoid any leaks about its products but sadly Apple products are turning out to be the worst kept secrets since the epic drama surrounding iPhone 4 launch back in 2010. One key factor attributed to the disappointment of many could be the well known features and designs of iPhone 5, thanks to the multiple leaks we had last year.
