Apple recently unveiled their much awaited Watch at an event on 9th March 2015. The Watch will go on sale in the US on 24th April and it has been reported that it will reach Indian stores by June this year. The Watch has three variants which is the Apple Watch Sports, Apple Watch and the Apple Watch Edition. The base model which is the Apple Watch Sports starts at $349, the Apple Watch at $549 and the Apple Watch Edition at a whopping $10,000.
All the three variants come in two sizes which are the 38mm one and the 42mm one with the larger one being a bit costlier. Smartwatches haven’t really taken off but hopefully Apple changes that with their Watch. The Apple Watch will mainly compete with Android Wear and there are many watches out there that run on it.
At the event also launched the Macbook. The last only “MacBook” was released in 2010 and most people thought that the line up discontinued but Apple proved differently. The Macbook is priced at $1299 and is available in space gray, silver and gold colours. Apple also spoke about their all new Research Kit at the event. The kit is supposed to help in medical research and will let doctors keep a tab on the health of their patient. Apple is definitely focusing on the health sector as with the release of iOS 8, they launched the Health app which allows a user to set up a Medical ID and enter in all crucial health related data.
All in all, it has been a good 6 months for the Cupertino based technology giant as their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have sold in great numbers. The iPhone sold more units than Android in the US after many years. Reports also suggest that the company is working on an electric car and are hiring massively for the same.
