iPad is a great device to watch videos on the go. But the only bad thing is that everytime you’ve to take care of few things, like u need a proper format supported by iPad for which you need a third party software and also you need an iTunes installed, which is quite frustrating. Well there is a good news especially for the people who loves watching videos on iPad, VLC video player is available on AppStore for free. Though it is not as efficient and smooth like its PC and MAC siblings when it comes to play different formats of video.
I tried putting different videos format like avi, wmv, mkv,mp4, and mpeg on my friends iPad. The only files it played smoothly are avi and mp4, Though it didn’t showed wmv files in the list and while playing mkv format app crashed. Overall, the video quality is excellent.

But I still think this is a great start and upcoming versions will fix aforementioned issues and I’m also expecting them to release the iPhone/iTouch version.
