According to a recent report, Apple is currently facing the shortage of Li-ion batteries that are used in iPods. A representative from Apple has called Kureha Corp.’s offices in the U.S complaining about the problem of its tight supplies. Wall Street Journel claimed that they have able to trace the issue which is arising due to its Japanese chemical maker Kureha.
kureha has a 70% market share of a polymer used in li-ion batteries had to close the factory due to the natural disaster occurred in Japan on 11 March. The chief executive officer of the company said that it would enhance the companies plans to more production overseas.
Since the polymer is not only used alone in iPod, it could a problem for many mobile devices which uses the lithium polymer batteries.
