If rumors (and must stay strong rumors) are to be believed, the Apple iPad 2 is coming to India in coming week. Yesterday Apple COO, Tim Cook announced that the iPad2 is being rolled out in 13 new countries in a weeks time and it might well land in India as well. The iPad 1 released in India in January and is retailing for Rs 24,500 (16GB WiFi) currently. Apple is expecting a competition from Honeycomb players and a faster rollout for iPad 2 spells trouble for Android for sure. The Samsung Galaxy 10.1, HTC Flyer & Blackberry Playbook are some of the competitors for iPad 2.
The Apple iPad has raked in big bucks for Cupertino and they sure know the value of the post-pc era in emerging markets. The iPad has breakthrough applications in Health and Education sector, apart from the killer mobile computing utility. The original iPad has sold over 15 million units and the iPad 2 is now in with long lines across the globe to get hold of one. If the iPad 2 hits India in a weeks time, it would be a cheer for Apple fans here haven’t enven got the iPhone 4. The date is said to be 28 or 29th April, we are excited and the pricing is said to be the same at which iPas 1st generation launched i.e. Starting Rs 27900. Are you getting the iPad 2?
