While Nokia’s patent suit was settled on the sidelines, Apple and Samsung have been fighting it out in courts across the globe over several suits and counter suits filed by both companies. The glare is obviously on whats happening in US and its a messy battle out there. While Apple demanded to see prototype of Samsung products before they hit US, Samsung replied to the court with request to see the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 before hand. Of course Apple complained of harassment and it seems that the court agrees.
Before we get to that, we also know that Samsung and Apple are also talking to each other directly to reach a settlement here. But the latest that is coming out of the court room war is the fact that Samsung’s demand to see iPhone 5 and iPad 3 has been turned down, however Apple’s shot a stopping sales of Samsung’s products also loses momentum.
The argument that Samsung’s latest products are more of a competition to next-gen iPhone and iPad and not the current models, lets one to believe that Apple’s future products would be significantly different from its current models. And since Apple would never show next-gen product publicly before announcement, it’s hard to argue a case against Samsung. Thus an injunction on sale of Samsung products would be difficult. The court battle is getting messier by the day and we would wait to see the outcome.
